Dan Simmons - Olympos

I am both honored and heavy-hearted to finally share the artworks I created (with the help of Francesca Politi) for the upcoming reissues of Dan Simmons’ masterpieces, Ilium and Olympos, coming this June 2026 from Pocket Imaginaire.

I had already begun working on these pieces when the news of his passing reached me a few weeks ago. To say I was shocked is an understatement. Dan Simmons was a true myth of epic and mythological science fiction, a writer who reshaped how we see the stars and our own history.

This is the first time I have found myself creating a posthumous tribute while the ink was still wet on the project. It’s a strange, moving experience to realize that the hand that wrote these worlds is gone, even as I was trying to bring his vision to life on the cover.

Thank you, Dan, for the inspiration. I hope these covers do justice to your incredible legacy.
